Simulation DPF with different characteristics channels

The simulative model of DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter) was based on FIRE to compare DPF performances with different inlet and outlet diameter proportions, different CPSI and different shapes of channels. And so to simulate deep-bed and soot cake filtration process under certain operation condition of engine, considering deep-bed filtration has an important influence on particle trapping. The results showed that there is only nano-particle deposition in initial stage, which produce a higher non-linear gradient pressure drop; however through-wall velocity distribution in the channel led to uneven distribution of the soot cake in filter.
