Photoelectrocatalytic degradation of rhodamineB of TiO2 coatings using micro-arc oxidation

Titanium oxide coatings (TiO
2
/Ti) were formed on the titanium net surface by micro-arc oxidation(MAO) in Na
3
PO
4
solution using an AC power supply. Using the TiO
2
/Ti photoelectrode as anod electrode, the Ti plat as counter electrod the same size with the TiO
2
, and with the UV lamp, constant current meter make up the photoelectrocatalytic reactor was built. The project was focused on the investigation of the influence of current density, electrolyte consistency, pH and concentration of NaCl solution. The results showed that the photoelectric chloride is the best technology on dealing with wastewater than electrode chloride and photocatalysis. When NaCI is used as the electrolyte, active chlorine is formed during the process, and is found to be responsible in combination with photo-and electro-effects for the degradation of rhodamineB; while Na
2
SO
4
is used as electrolyte, two categortes of reactions will occur. When NaCl aqueous consistency is 0.04mol/L, the rhodamineB concentration of 10mg/L, pH is 1, current density is 0.25mA /cm
²
. The photoelectric degradation of rhodamineB is increased from 8.2% to 32.1%.
