"Smart Logistics" - Usage of innovative Information and Communication technologies in production logistics

Innovative data collection technologies such as RFID have proved their practicability and economic efficiency in the fields of trade and stock-keeping, but for the use in the manufacturing industry, however, a number of further uncertainties have to be taken into account. Within the framework of the Sm@rt Logistics project both factors shall be proved in the field of production logistics of a metal-working company. The project and main concepts will be introduced in the article.
