The analysis of environmental temperature's effects of ultrasonic motor's dynamic characteristics

Ultrasonic motor is a new type micro motor, with the characteristics of Light weight, low speed, no electromagnetic interference, high torque and fast response, which has broad application prospects In the field of national defense and military and aerospace. Therefore, the study of ultrasonic motor's performance is very necessary in the high/low temperature environment. This paper analyzed the changes of characteristics of materials and vibration of the stator's elastic body and the piezoelectric ceramic element in different temperatures. the temperature load on the stator's Elastic body and its effects on the operating frequency and piezoelectric constant of piezoelectric material were analyzed, which resulted the changes of resonant amplitude and the speed factor of the stator. The high/low environmental experiments of the ultrasonic motor were carried out. Compared to the ultrasonic motor's performance simulation results, conclusion was drawn: the ambient temperature affects the vibration characteristics of the motor.
