Research on Sequential Test of Gyro's Error Model Coefficients

In order to calibrate the static and the dynamic error coefficients of tested gyro which is installed only once on three-axis turntable, a sequential measurement method is designed. The gyro's parameters to be calibrated, include the elementary specification, and the error model coefficients concerned with the specific force, with the angular rate and with the angular acceleration. The test sequence is from single-axis rate test to two-axis position tumble test, from single-axis rate, two-axis position tumble test to single-axis position, two-axis rate test, till the final three-axis rate test. According to this measurement sequence, the former measured error model coefficients are used to compensate for the later error model coefficient measurement. The component of turn rate of the earth is also taken into consideration to eliminate its influence on the output of the gyro. This sequential method makes full use of functions of the three-axis turntable, and through only one time installing, the static and dynamic error model coefficients are measured, thus the measuring efficiency is raised.
