FORMULA ZERO: Development and kart's competition driven by PEMFC

Formula Zero is an international hydrogen motor sport championship. A team headed by Foundation Hydrogen Aragon was formed to participate in this championship. In this paper a Formula Zero go-cart is designed, simulated and tested. All the car devices (fuel cell, super capacitors, electronic DC circuits, permanent magnet motors and controllers) are tested separately to characterize its way of working. Afterwards with the data obtained from the experiments the system is simulated in Matlab to find the better control of the system. Different configurations and controls are simulated. At the end a configuration with a DC/DC step up controller is selected as the best one. Some circuit test was done and the car is working properly and prepared for the races.
