“Hiya-Atsu” mouse: A device to augment GUIs with temperature

"Hiya-Atsu" mouse is a device that adds temperature expressions to the regular graphical user interface on PCs. By clicking or hovering the cursor over objects on screen, users can feel the temperature associated with the graphical objects. We implement a compact prototype to demonstrate the concept. We also examine the linkage between temperature and abstract values such as emotions or degree of urgency, and report preliminary feedback from the research.
