MOBD: a neural network algorithm with symmetry constraints

This paper addresses the problem of pruning feedforward neural networks, with symmetry constraints. A simple algorithm is presented (MOBD=modified optimal brain damage), which leads to sparse weight matrices. We evaluate its performance on "chirp" signals.
