Comments on "'An early history of the internet' by Leonard Kleinrock" (with author's reply) [Letters to the editor]

The commenter notes that Donald Davies in part covered the same ground in an article published in 2001 (The Computer Journal, vol. 44, no. 3, pp. 152–62). He found Davies' account very moving: a renowned researcher in his dying months establishing his view of a contested period of discovery (and not to assert his own claim). In replying to the comments, the original author notes that he explained how his work informed the technology of the ARPANET as well as its timing relative to that of Paul Baran's. Prior to the writing of Davies' posthumous article, he contacted the author about these topics, and did respond accordingly. Dr. Adamson has raised these same issues, which were already explained in the original article.
