The polarized direction of transverse electric field in TWT with twisted twin comb

An interesting vacuum microwave power amplifier, named circularly polarized traveling wave tube (CPTWT), is introduced. Different from traditional O-type traveling wave tube, it works on the interaction between circularly polarized electromagnetic wave and electron beam transverse wave [1], [2]. Therefore it is supposed to have high electronic efficiency and good linearity so that can be used to improve the performances of many microwave systems such as radar, satellite communication and electronic countermeasure.
