Influence of meso-substituted porphyrins derivatives molecular structure on their liquid-cristal properties and supramolecular organization in floating layers

The 4 new meso-substituted tetraphenylpor-phyrins and their metal complexes with (-OC
16
H
33
) in orto-or para-positions were studied to evaluate the influence of molecular structure peculiarities on mesomorphism and supramolecular packing in floating layers. We have studied mesomorphism of bulk samples, its dependence on porphyrins' structure and substituents' position, as well as the influence of substituents position on supramolecular organization of meso-substituted porphyrins' derivatives in floating layers.
