Remote web monitoring and activation of an experimental on-off dissolved oxygen concentration control model applied to aquaculture tanks

A description of an experimental model is presented wich has the purpose of controlling the dissolved oxygen concentration (DOC) in a water tank where marine species are raised. The control model considers an on-off algorithm that's monitored remotely and can be modified by means of a web application. The model includes all perturbations that affect the DOC, such as: temperature, salinity, atmospheric pressure and water vapor pressure. The use of this model permits an a priori time interpretation of the DOC's behavior of a real experimental biological system, as a function of the established parameters. This permits to determine DOC operational ranges depending on the tank's parametric conditions, so as to obtain the optimal operation regions against the parametric conditions induced within the tank. Remote 24 hour monitoring of the artificial marine habitat has the purpose to avoid the organism's death caused by oxygen drops due to external system perturbations. With regards to this document's structure, in section 1 the mathematical model that describes the tanks DOC dynamics is presented, while in section 2 the physical model is described and the experimental platform is used. In section 3, the control system test results are shown that demonstrate the functionality and validity of the model. In section 4, the web based remote monitoring system is presented. And lastly, the discussions and conclusions are established.
