Introduction to VHDL-A. 2. Continuous and mixed continuous/discrete concepts

For part 1, see ibid. This presentation provides an introduction to the VHDL 1076.1 language, with particular emphasis on the concepts supporting the description of continuous and mixed continuous/discrete systems. It introduces the language constructs for the description of non-hierarchical and hierarchical systems, including continuous and mixed continuous/discrete concepts applicable to system models with nonconservative and conservative semantics. The language concepts an illustrated with selected examples, and the underlying mathematical theory is summarized where applicable.
