Fire test methods for electrical and dielectric materials

Methods intended for the measurement of combustibility are briefly reviewed. The need for fire safety assessment to address parameters that extend beyond a material's tendency to burn is discussed. Emphasis is placed on recent developments in fire testing which provide a more complete characterization of a material's fire behavior and associated fire hazards. Fire test apparatus and toxicity and corrosivity of combustion products are considered.<
