"Retrofilling" - A Technique to Reduce Polychlorinated Biphenyls (PCB's)

Summary form only, as given. Enactment and subsequent promulgation of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations concerning the continued use of PCB's, as related to all types of PCB and PCB-contaminated equipment, have caused various concerns within the electrical in industry. One of these concerns is the servicing, maintenance, and continued service of mineral oil-filled transformers that have been inadvertently contaminated with PCB's 500 ppm or greater. This contamination may have been caused by filling or refilling a mineral oil-filled transformer with PCB-contaminated oil hoses and equipment, mineral oil, etc.
