A DDA-based, fully differential LNA with built in programmable gain and wide input common mode range

This paper describes the design and measurement results of a novel, fully differential low noise amplifier. The amplifier is based on a DDA topology and provides a high resistive input impedance, a wide input common mode range and a built-in programmable gain. The input referred noise is 17.2 nV/√Hz. The amplifier is implemented in a 0.5μm standard CMOS technology and spans 400μm × 500μm. It consumes typically 1.9 mA from a single 3 volt supply.
