Effects of gap between iron cores on electrical characteristics of transformer using 3-D finite element analysis

We analyzed a transformer with the variable gaps between the iron cores using the three-dimensional finite element method (3-D FEM). The effects of the gap between the iron cores on the inductance and the loss of the transformer are quantitatively clarified.
