Semantics and routing in wireless sensor networks: Challenges and opportunities

In this paper, we propose to add semantics to routing protocols in wireless sensor networks. We show the benefits of introducing such a concept and investigate its challenges and opportunities. The advantages of our approach are illustrated in a forest fire detection scenario.
