Multipath Channel Model in Underground Mining UWB LOS Environments

According to the channel pulse response of double-cluster arrival phenomena, measured by actual mine UWB (ultrawide band), the IEEE 802.15.3a indoor multipath model is modified to the LOS double-cluster semi-deterministic statistical model. The determinate part of the model depends on the propagation environments, which makes effective use of geometric parameters data of specific environments, and the statistical part can be obtained from the testing data. In this paper, we show a detailed introduction about the determination of model parameters and calculation process, and obtain that the channel characteristics are similar to the actual environments based on the model. What's more, we analyze the signal band impact on the RMS delay spread, a conclusion is given that the greater the bandwidth is, the smaller the RMS delay spread will be. The simulation results show that the semi-deterministic statistical model has a greater advantage than traditional single form of statistical model and deterministic model in predicting indoor and underground gallery specific environment small-scale characteristics, because it has high accuracy and is easy to use.
