Space systems for the exploration of the land and ocean natural resources and proposal for their development

Firstly, Earth observation space systems which are in operation during the period 1994-1997 are discussed. Then proposals on the development of an operative Earth observation system for the period 1997-2005 are outlined, including structure of the Earth remote sensing system, 'Planeta-O'.
