Considerations on the Use of Lacunarity for comparing the resonant behavior of different convoluted wire antennas

The concept of lacunarity can be applied to a wider range of geometries as compared to fractal dimension. In particular, a measure can be obtained for both prefractal and non-prefractal curves. The significant analogy between average lacunarity and resonant frequencies observed in the presented results is not sufficient to completely characterize the resonant behavior of a convoluted wire dipole by its average lacunarity or, for prefractal dipoles, by the combination average lacunarity-fractal dimension. However, the existence of a more strict relationship between lacunarity and resonant frequencies cannot be completely excluded, because the average lacunarity Lambda

may provide only part of the information contained in the lacunarity curve Lambda(r).
