A novel beam scanning technique in time modulated linear arrays

This paper presents a beam scanning technique in time modulated linear array. By controlling the switch-on time sequences of each element in the array, pattern synthesis and beam scanning can be realized at the first sideband simultaneously without using any phase shifters. In addition, the DES was used to improve the first SBL. An S-band 8-element linear array was used to verify the proposed method, and the beam scanning was successfully realized at the first sideband, thereby confirming the proposed beam scanning in time modulated linear array.
