Enhanced field-weakening strategy with an asymmetrical fuzzy logic voltage regulator

Field weakening control is a key technology in high speed permanent magnet machines. Inverter output voltage regulation is one of the basic field-weakening strategies for its parameter adaptability. But with a conventional PI regulator, there is a contradiction between system stability and torque output capability. A new voltage regulator based on fuzzy logic is proposed in this paper. An asymmetrical designing of membership functions and fuzzy rules remarkably enhanced the system stability and performance. Simulation results verified the discussion.
