Parallel computing of radio coverage

Computer implemented radio propagation models tend to be time-critical, especially when they are applied to large areas. At TDF-C2R, such a model has been developed and included in a PC software. It was then parallelized on a network of SUN workstations and ported to a massively parallel computer, the CRAY T3D. Different technical approaches were experimented in order to reduce computing time. Compared to the PC version, computing times have been divided by a factor of 20 to 1000, depending on the methods and the available computing power.
