Bufferless packet routing methods for next generation optical networks

This paper discusses a novel packet routing network architecture using bufferless routers. Two routing control methods, “an extended routing table method” and “a coordinate routing method”, are proposed and evaluated for their feasibility for next generation high-throughput optical networks.
