The use of Identified Model Uncertainty in Control Design for the ASTREX Structure

Large space structures are characterized by a large number of lightly damped modes over a wide range of frequencies. We have identified models of the ASTREX structure (AFAL, Edwards AFB) using a combination of a fast least squares algorithm and methods of model reduction. The effect of model uncertainty on the closed loop performance was analyzed using Monte Carlo methods.
