Optimal location of controls for an acoustic problem

Investigates the optimal location of controllers to achieve reduction of noise field in an acoustic cavity. The author first formulates a linear quadratic tracking problem in a Hilbert space, and then considers the problem of optimization of an appropriate performance criterion with respect to the location of the controls. Numerical examples are presented to illustrate the author's theoretical results.
