Development Micro-Controller-Based Electronic Ballast for HPS Lamps with Dimming Control Function

A micro-controller-based dimmable electronic ballast for HPS lamps is presented in this paper. An easier and low-cost power control method is proposed in this paper, based on the regulation of the average input current of the inverter. Driving signal with low frequency modulation generated from MCU is used to eliminate unstable arc during dimming state.
