Evolutions for FTTH Deployment in the Access Network

This paper considers the optical access networks deployment in France and the main technical challenges which are associated to such deployments. Possible evolutions of broadband optical networks are discussed, with the need for adapting both metropolitan and access networks to the customer service demand evolution.
