Nanocomposite insulating materials for environmental-conscious heavy electric apparatuses

Recent rapid R&D speed has stimulated the importance of industry and academia collaboration. The collaboration shortens the time from fundamental research to practical application, and makes a contribution to our society. Toshiba Corporation, Kansai University and Waseda University conduct the collaborated R&D project entitled “Nanocomposite Insulating Materials for Environmental-conscious Heavy Electric Apparatuses” supported by New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO). The project assigns the fundamental research to Kansai and Waseda University, and applied research to Toshiba Corporation, as shown in Figure 1. The following is the summary of the R&D project.
