A 10Mb/s 2.6mW 6-to-10GHz UWB impulse transceiver

This paper presents 6-to-10 GHz UWB impulse transceiver for low power and medium data rate wireless sensor networks. The architecture is based on amplification and filtering of periodic sequence of UWB impulses during switch on-time of DC-free on-off keying modulated pattern. Designed in 0.18 mum CMOS process, the UWB signal to in-band interferer ratio of -30 dB is achieved for 10 Mb/s with sensitivity of -90 dBm. It consumes 1.8 mW and 0.8 mW from 1.5 V supply in transmit and receive modes, respectively.
