Beam-switch of microstrip array with series CRLH-TL feed configuration

A novel linear microstrip array with beam switched has been designed. Its feed network is composed of composite right/left-handed transmission line (CRLH-TL). Meanwhile, microstrip antennas with broad beamwidth have been used as radiation elements. Numerical results reveal that present linear array working at large angles, has higher gain and lower side lobe level along the axis of the linear array than those of traditional microstrip arrays. Meanwhile, its 3dB beam width in the plane perpendicular to the axis is up to 170 degree.
