High small-signal modulation bandwidth and narrow linewidth microdisk lasers

In this report, microdisk lasers with -3dB small-signal modulation bandwidths in excess of 17 GHz are demonstrated. Linewidth of these lasers are also measured and a minimum linewidth of 85 MHz is achieved.
