Pulse energies exceeding 13 microjoules from a passively mode-locked Yb:YAG thin-disk oscillator by use of a self-imaging active multipass geometry

We demonstrate high energy picosecond pulses obtained directly from a thin-disk laser oscillator operating in ambient atmosphere. The average output power was up to 55 W at a repetition rate of 3.8 MHz.
