Position Resolution in a Multiwire Chamber with Graded-Density Cathodes

Measurements have been made of positional resolution, for soft x-rays, in a chamber employing `graded-density' cathodes for position encoding. The effects on resolution of anode charge (gas gain), chamber geometry and gas mixtures have been studied.
