Memphis a Modular Experiment Multiparameter Pulse Height Instrumentation System

A modular expandable multiparameter pulse height analyzer system for up to 16 ADC's has been developed. Certain computing functions which have been implemented in hardware allow on line data acquisition and manipulation making use of parallel processing at high event rates (> 2 × 104 pulses/sec) at an event word length up to 128 bits. The system can be easily interfaced to 16 and 32 bit computers (VAX 11/780) by a special CAMAC buffer module. Single parameter information is incremented and stored in 8K CAMAC memory modules, which can be read and displayed by a CAMAC compatible dataway operation allowing direct memory addressing.
