Some General Results for Low-Frequency Eddy Currents

A square section conductor in a transverse alternating magnetic field has eddy current losses that are independent of the orientation of the square relative to the direction of the field. The proof of this result leads to some interesting general insights in the theory of low-frequency eddy currents.
