A Fast Fourier Transform Technique Applied to Subnanosecond Laser Fusion Diagnostics

A fast Fourier transform technique is described which when applied to streak-camera data may make possible the first direct experimental determination of the Rayleigh-Taylor instability in the context of laser-pellet fusion. This technique has been successfully applied to computer-generated streak-camera data.
