Magnetomechanical Coupling in Stress Annealed Fe-Ga and Fe-Al Alloys

Magnetomechanical coupling factor, piezomagnetic d-constant and magnetic permeability are reported as a function of magnetic field and applied stress for stress annealed Fe-Ga and Fe-Al alloys. Magnetic field dependences of the samples were measured as a function of the intrinsic saturation flux density (J
_s
), lowest order cubic anisotropy coefficient (K
_cubic
), uniaxial anisotropy lowest order coefficient (K
_uniaxial
) and saturation magnetostriction (lambda
_sat
).
