Areal Density Estimates at Increased Flying Height for Perpendicular Recording on Removable Media

In this paper, an estimate of achievable areal density in perpendicular magnetic recording over a wide range of flying heights and bit aspect ratios with a giant magnetoresistive (GMR) reader head is presented.
