6C-4 Theoretical and Experimental Investigation of the Influence of Electrical Shorting of the Surface on PFA of SH0 Wave in Thin Piezoelectric Plates

This paper is concerned with the theoretical and experimental investigation of power flow angle (PFA) of SH
₀
waves propagating in thin plates. It is found that the PFA is a sensitive function of electrical boundary conditions. Variations in PFA of as much as 14deg can be obtained for SH
₀
waves propagating in Y cut lithium niobate plates. This effect can be gainfully employed for development of various devices for signal processing, for example, electrically controlled acoustic switches
