Reflections on the IT Aspects of Writing, Designing, and Producing Law Games - Online, CD-Rom, or DVD?

In November 2005, twenty-two high school student teams of different sizes logged on to the Web site of the newly established School of Law at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (`CUHK') to begin playing the interactive online game The Gold Rush: Mining the Law. In this article we describe some of the IT challenges that we faced, and we provide some tentative answers to the question: which is best - producing an educational online game or an educational game on CD-Rom/DVD?
