A New Symbol Timing Synchronization Method for Wireless OFDM Systems

This paper proposes a new method for the coarse symbol timing synchronization and frequency offset estimation in wireless OFDM systems. Different from the conventional method based on the correlation between cyclic prefix and its duplicated part in the single sample point, the proposed method employs the separated block of the correlation. Simulation results and the corresponding analysis demonstrate its better accuracy and steadiness.
