20/30 GHz Communication Systems: Microwave Hardware Requirements in the Near Term, and Present Achievements.

This paper reviews some of the planned 20/30 GHz Satellite Communication Systems. Recent achievements are presented and correlated to System Designer's requirements, highlighting critical areas needing effort for near term applications. Some speculative thoughts on second generation Payload Architectures are given, in view of expected technology developments in some years from now.
