A Strategy for Automatic Wide-Dynamic-Range Radio Spectrum Measurements

The Radio Spectrum Measurement System (RSMS) (Figure 1) is a computer-controlled measurement system designed to measure Federal Government use of the radio spectrum. Typical measurements include emission spectra from specific equipment (e.g., radar transmitters), long-term usage measurements in selected frequency bands, site surveys for special test ranges, interference identification and problem solving, etc.
