Automated Microwave VCO Subassembly Test System

The purpose of this paper is to discuss the design and performance of an automatic test system for a complex microwave missile subassembly. The subassembly has many RF ports and contains a VCO, multiplier, amplifiers , mixers and passive components. The necessity to test each of these functions over the operating band of the VCO created an enormous volume of testing.
