The Impact of High-Speed Reclosure of Single and Multi-Phase Systems Faults on Turbine-Generator Shaft Torsional Fatigue

The successive electrical transients caused by system faults and subsequent switching operations associated with the widely practiced technique of automatic high-speed reclosing give rise to mechanical stresses in nearby turbine-generators.
