Upper Bound on Amplitude and Rate Change of a Time-Domain Waveform from Its Spectral Density

Given the spectral density ofa time function, the upper bound on the amplitude and rate of change is determined. Using this technique, maximum permissible values allowable by MIL-STD-461 [1] are determined. A simple method is then presented for determining if a transient definitely exceeds the limits.
