Teaching parallel processing to undergraduate students

Since 1989 the Department of Computer Science at California State University-Fresno has been devoting a great deal of effort to the development of undergraduate courses of parallel processing as well as the establishment of a laboratory serving them. In the process of developing parallel processing courses, a laboratory based on transputer technology and occam programming has been established for both instruction and research. Several issues of course teaching are discussed, and two examples of parallel problem solving and message-passing programming are presented.<
