Penn State's Freshmen in the Sciences and Engineering (FISE) House

The Freshmen in the Sciences and Engineering (FISE) House is an experiment living/learning program for freshmen in scientific and technical majors. Living/learning refers to the special programming available in the residence hall to develop academic and social skills unavailable in the general classroom environment. FISE House is being evaluated through surveys and interviews with the residents. In addition, the residents will be tracked as they progress through their collegiate career to see if they are retained in a scientific or technical field. Some of the results of the evaluation of the first year are discussed.<
